Legislating Morality... An answer

Last week I asked whether the government can or should legislate morality. Here are my thoughts.
First, the government cannot legislate morality. What is morally right and wrong is the same, no matter what the government decides. And just because the government outlaws an act does not make it immoral.
And secondly, it is not the government's job to determine right and wrong. Societal norms and morals are not subject to the government's control.
Those answers are a brief statement of what I think, and I will explain more as I begin to delve into specific topics from here on out.
My next adventure is whether or not there is a biblical basis for a welfare system. Stay tuned!
